On Friday 1st February, local housing developer Heywood Homes joined organisations across the region donning red attire to raise awareness and funds for Leeds based charity Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.

Inspired by 2year old Molly, the daughter of employee Amy Grace, the team wanted to show their support on this year’s Wear Red Day. Molly was born with congenital heart defect Ebsteins Anomaly and is under the care of LGI and Great Ormond Street Hospital. She visited the site, in red of course, to collect the money raised.

Amy, Molly’s mum, spoke about living with the condition “Most people don’t know the impact living with a CHD has on children and their families. Days like Wear Red Day help raise awareness of this unseen disease that can result in life-long hospital appointments and operations, and of course raise money for local centres supporting CHD families.”

Heywood Director, Cathrine Dickinson said “As a local business, we wanted to show our support for a Yorkshire based charity that does such amazing work supporting children and adults born with congenital heart disease across the region. It’s a cause that’s close to our hearts.”
